CEAB delegation visit to Leeds on 23-26 July 2015
Dear members:
In terms of Gross Value Added (GVA) terms, the Leeds City Region is ranked as the second largest economic zone in the UK (with the Leeds City Region including the area of Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, York, Kirklees, Calderdale, Craven, Barnsley, Selby and Harrogate). The Leeds City Region is the UK’s largest manufacturing region, its second largest financial centre, its second largest digital creativity area, and an important centre for healthcare and technology innovation. Yorkshire is also an important location in the UK for agriculture and animal husbandry.
In consideration of the economical reality and potential of the Leeds City Region, the CEAB in collaboration with the Leeds City Region government, is organising a delegation to visit the region in late July. The approximate itinerary is as follows:
23 July : Arrive in Leeds in the evening
24 July: Full day business activity
25 July to 26 July: Visit to Yorkshire
26 July: Return to London in the evening
The main objectives of the delegation visit are as follows:
1) Understand the economy, trade, investment opportunities and potential of Leeds and Yorkshire; 2) Meet governmental officials of the region and officials, business community leaders and industry sector leaders responsible for inward investment; 3) Seek business and investment opportunities.
The delegation trip will include official visits, introductions, networking and other visits.
Business delegation trips are organised by the association for the decision makers of member companies, therefore the visit is more suited for attendance by high-level management. If high-level management cannot attend, then other managers can attend.
The Leeds City Region government will soon issue a wish list of member companies suitable for the delegation visit, which will be provided to members in due course. The association encourages member companies to attend as needed.
Member companies are requested to register (1-2 persons) before 8 July 2015.
