1. A resolution to change the name of the China Enterprises Association in Britain (CEAB) was passed at a general member meeting. The new name of the association therefore is:
China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK)
2. The general member meeting also approved the following new logo:
On September 14th 2015, the CEAB held a general member meeting in the St. Pancras Renaissance hotel to vote on a resolution to change the name of the association. There were over 50 persons from 39 member companies in attendance to cast their votes. The event was also attended by the members from the economic & commercial counsellor office of the Chinese embassy and was hosted by the association chairman Mr. SI Bingjun.
Opening the event, Mr. JIN Xu of the economic & commercial counsellor office of the Chinese embassy reminded the attendees of the importance of China-UK bilateral ties. China is currently the UK’s fourth largest trading partner and the UK is currently China’s second largest trading partner in the EU. Moreover, Mr. JIN believes that the Chinese President XI Jinping’s visit to the UK in October would lead to further strengthening of bilateral economic, trading and financial ties.
Chairman of the association, Mr. SI Bingjun, then spoke about the crucial role the support of the economic & commercial counsellor’s support has played in the development of the association and that the name change of the association would lead to greater influence and effectiveness.
Vice-Chairman of the association, MR. LIN Ning, then explained the aim and process of the name change of the association after which the members cast their votes. Out of the 39 members, all voted to approve the motion for the name change. There were three logos for the members to vote on and logo number three received the highest number of votes (17 votes in total).
